La “Ercole Moretti & Fratelli” si è costituita nel 1911 per iniziativa dei tre fratelli Ercole, Norberto ed Iginio Moretti, con il programma di produrre due classici tipi di perle di vetro: la “Rosetta” ed il mosaico “Millefiori”. La ditta non ha mai interrotto la propria attività, che continua tuttora con i figli ed i nipoti dei tre fondatori. In tanti anni la gamma dei prodotti si è notevolmente arricchita. La lavorazione della murrina è sempre stata tra le preferite ed ha portato, all’inizio degli anni ‘70, alla produzione dei ciondoli, che hanno destato immediato interesse per l’originalità dell’idea e la perfezione dell’esecuzione. In seguito sono stati presentati piattini e ciotole, raffinati oggetti che riprendono la tecnica, complessa e ricca di fascino, dei vetri murrini romani. Negli ultimi anni ha inoltre intrapreso un interessante percorso sperimentale con noti Designer contemporanei.

Founded in 1911 in Murano, the Ercole Moretti Company is known for the high-quality and refined elegance of its output, and has long received recognition for its production of glass beads. Over time, the range of the firm’s output has expanded to include the use of the fascinating murrine techniques developed by Roman glassmakers in the production of pendants, decorative plates and bowls.

The firm is now aiming at complementing its traditional range with a new line featuring a strong contemporary direction, and has welcomed on board a group of international designers from various parts of the world all of whom share a genuine spirit of inventiveness. Their innovative interpretation of traditional production techniques has resulted in the “Design Collection”, an original range of functional and decorative objects with a contemporary appeal, that takes the traditional aesthetic in a number of surprising new domestic landscapes.

Ercole Moretti & Fratelliは、1911年にエルコレ、ノルベルト、イジニオのモレッティ家3兄弟が、伝統的なロゼッタ（rosetta）と呼ばれるビーズと、ミルフィオーリ（Millefiori）を製作することを目的に創設し、現在も創設時3兄弟の2代目、3代目が伝統を引き継いでいます。

100年以上の間に、商品の種類は大変豊富になりました。

ミルフィオーリはもちろん、そのオリジナルさと高品質さが認められ、70年代初頭にはペンダントが大評判になりました。

その後、様々なプレートが発表され、またローマ時代のミルフィオーリの華やかさと技術で作った洗練された商品が人気を得ました。

この数年は、デザイナーとコラボレーションで、実験的な作品に挑戦しています。
